The Deaf in Government (DIG) Privacy Policy is intended to inform you of DIG’s policies and practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of all information that you submit through the DIG website at https://deafingov.org. This Website and all its sub websites are the intellectual property of DIG.

This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors of the DIG Website. Your use or continued use of the Website will signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, as well as your consent to the processing of your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  1. Privacy Policy Statement. DIG is committed to protecting the privacy of its Website visitors. Information gathered by DIG is used to monitor the effectiveness of our Website, personalize your Internet experience, conduct surveys, and respond to your questions and requests.

When you visit our Website, our server automatically logs (records) domain name and standard non-personal Information about the operating system and Web browser you are using, as provided by your Web browser (“Aggregate Information”). However, your Personal Information may be shared or stored with third party providers of services to DIG, such as platform providers (Wild Apricot and Affinipay) or data processing providers. The DIG Board members also will be able to access the personal information from DIG website. If you conduct purchases through the DIG website, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide you with the notice of the transfer.
  7. Communications. DIG may contact you to send you information about its products, services, events, promotions or surveys. If you no longer wish to receive these communications, you may unsubscribe through the links at the bottom of all e-mails. You may contact us if you wish to unsubscribe by emailing we@deafingov.org.
  8. Personal Information/Data Security Statement. The security of your Personal Information data is very important to DIG. DIG follows generally-accepted industry standards to protect Personal Information submitted to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while DIG strives to use commercially acceptable means to protect Personal Information, DIG cannot guarantee its absolute security.
  9. Online Surveys. Occasionally, DIG will conduct a survey to collect information about your preferences and opinions. These surveys are optional, and if you choose to respond, your responses may be shared but will be kept anonymous. You may unsubscribe to receiving emails regarding surveys through links at the bottom of all e-mails. You may also inform us if you wish to unsubscribe by emailing we@deafingov.org.

Please note that when you click on the third party links, you may be entering another website that is owned and operated by another entity and is not controlled by DIG. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these linked websites, as their privacy policy may differ from DIG privacy policy.
  11. Email Links. We use email links located on this site to allow you to contact us directly via email. We will use the your email information that you provided to respond to your questions or comments. We may also store your comments or inquiry for future reference(s).
  12. Google AdWords Remarketing. DIG may use third-party vendors, including Google, to use cookies to serve ads based on past visits to the Website. Ads are used to serve relevant information to past website visitors based on their browsing behavior. Third-party vendors, including Google, will show DIG ads on sites across the Internet. You may opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.

If you no longer wish to have your information retained by DIG, please contact DIG at we@deafingov.org and we will remove identifying information from our production websites and mailing lists within 48 business hours of receiving this request.
  16. Privacy Policy Updates. DIG may modify the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on DIG Website. We will also be sending an e-mail notice to you. If you have not provided an email address to DIG, it is your responsibility to check the Website periodically for changes. Continued use of the Website after any modifications to the terms of this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of such modified terms. The changes will become effective and update the “Last updated” date on the top of this Privacy Policy.
